“To give an object poetic space is to give it more space than it has objectivity; or, better still, it is following the expansion of its intimate space.’ Gaston Bachelard Poetics of Space.

My photographic work is an ongoing investigation of contemplating objects as traces and shadows. I seek to place the experience of looking into the realm of personal and the psychological experience where the act of seeing is a path to new understanding. It is a poetic reverie and reflection of the complexity in the natural world.

I am fascinated by systems both natural and cultural. The organization and collection of information and objects for the purpose of categorization and identification is a constant pool of inspiration for me. I like to ponder the notion of how the physical form of an object informs the hidden understanding of systems that we have come to understand through empirical knowledge.
